Mike Martin has been a partner and trial attorney at Petruccelli, Martin & Haddow since 1995, litigating and mediating cases in federal and state trial and appellate courts for individuals, small businesses and multinational corporations.  Prior to joining PMH, Mike was an Assistant District Attorney in the York County District Attorney’s Office where he successfully prosecuted many criminal trials.

Mike has spent the last 25 years successfully litigating large and small cases from the simple to the complex, including those involving personal injury, insurance coverage, construction disputes, all types of commercial and real estate disputes, products liability, defamation, false imprisonment, and professional malpractice.

Mike has been recognized by virtually every legal peer rating organization for many years.  He has been selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America in the practice areas of Commercial Litigation and Insurance Law.  Best Lawyers is one of America’s leading and most visible targeted peer review publications in the legal profession.  Mike has also been recognized for inclusion in New England Super Lawyers in the practice area of Business Litigation.  Super Lawyers recognizes outstanding attorneys based upon a multi-phased, rigorous rating process which includes peer evaluation and third-party research.  Mike has achieved an AV rating (the highest rating possible) from LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell, one of the most prestigious and widely respected lawyer rating systems in the world, which is based on the opinions of other lawyers and judges who have worked with Mike.

Mike earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Southern Maine in 1985 and J.D., cum laude, from the University of Maine School of Law in1989, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and was the recipient of West’s Award for Excellence in the Study of Property Law.

Mike is a member of the Cumberland and Maine State Bar Associations and the Maine Trial Lawyers Association.

Mike remains committed to professional and community service, having served as President of the University of Maine School of Law Alumni Association and as Treasurer of the Cumberland Bar Association for many years.  He also sits on the Town of Cumberland Zoning Board of Appeals and has been heavily involved in the Cumberland-North Yarmouth Little League, serving as Volunteer Coach for both Little League Baseball and Little League Softball.
